A Ryazan resident sued RMPTS for more than 700 thousand rubles for a flooded premisestranslated

A resident of Ryazan managed to recover more than 700 thousand rubles from RMPTS after the flooding of his non-residential premises. As the press service of the Ryazan Regional Court reported on September 7, the cause of the incident was a burst pipe, which was on the balance sheet of the heat supply organization. The district court's decision was subsequently reviewed by a higher authority.
After the pipe was damaged, water from the street entered the premises through the entrance steps. To determine the amount of damage caused, a forensic construction and technical examination was carried out. Experts estimated the cost of the damaged property and the necessary restoration work at almost 450 thousand rubles.
During the consideration of the case, RMPTS referred to force majeure circumstances. The court did not agree with this position, since the company did not provide evidence of the existence of circumstances that could not be foreseen or prevented in advance. The organization was blamed for improper maintenance of heating networks.
