A city sports festival dedicated to Athlete's Day was held at the Elena Elesina Stadium in Chelyabinsk. The head of the sports department of the Chelyabinsk diocese, Priest Andrei Kovshevny, took part in the opening ceremony. More than a thousand young athletes from 49 city sports schools, their mentors, veterans of South Ural sports and fans took part in the celebration. The program began with a parade of sports schools. Then there were “Fun Starts” and a mass 5-kilometer race. The holiday brought together athletes, coaches and everyone who loves an active lifestyle.
