The history of the creation of both the foundation itself and the “Take Me Home!” program. started in 2005. The family of Dmitry and Olga Kiryanov had no children for more than 14 years, and when they decided to adopt a child, they were sent to a specialized orphanage where orphans born to HIV-positive women lived.

“Then Olga was struck by the fact that candidates for foster parents very rarely came to the institution. A child’s diagnosis – even one that is successfully controlled by therapy and is not passed on in everyday life – became an insurmountable barrier. Two months later they became the parents of a ten-month-old boy, and a year later - a one-and-a-half-year-old girl. The disease was not transmitted to the children by their biological mothers,” the foundation said.
