Romfilatelia highlights the architectural heritage of the Romanian Post through a new issue of postage stamps.
The philatelic series was launched on Thursday, around World Post Day, celebrated annually on October 9.
The show, entitled "Palaces of the Romanian Post", brings together four postage stamps and a "prima zi" envelope, illustrating representative historical buildings from Bucharest, Iași, Râmnicu Vâlcea and Piatra-Neamț.
The songs of the new show The postage stamp with the nominal value of 3.50 lei depicts the Palace of the Post Office in Iași or Casa Balș-Sturdza, a building built between 1835 and 1850.
The 9 lei philatelic piece shows the Post Office Palace in Râmnicu Vâlcea, built at the beginning of the 20th century, according to the plans of the architect Nicolae Ghica-Budești.
The Post Office Palace from Piatra-Neamț appears on the postage stamp with a value of 5.50 lei. The architectural project was carried out by the Italian Carol Zani and built between 1932 and 1936. After the completion of the works, in November 2022 the building was reintegrated into the Salba of Historical Monuments of the county.
The 16 lei philatelic piece shows the current headquarters of the Stamp Factory, built in 1924. On…
