Romania from my heart: ICR has started registrations for an essay contest for children from the diasporatranslated

On Wednesday, the Romanian Cultural Institute started registrations for the "I and Romania" essay contest, dedicated to children and young people from the diaspora.
This year's theme, "Romania in my heart", invites participants to present their connection to the country, choosing to describe a place, a person, traditions or lived experiences. Illustrations can optionally be attached to the written text.
"ICR aims to bring Romanian children and young people from outside the borders closer to the Romanian language, culture and heritage, at the same time giving them the opportunity to talk about Romania through their own experiences, memories and emotions. The competition aims to gather stories about Romania seen through the eyes of the young generation from Romanian communities abroad", the institution's representatives said.
The maximum age for participation is 18 years. Children and young people will be divided into three age categories: 8–10 years, 11–14 years and 15–18 years.
The writing of the essay will be done in Romanian by hand or digitally and will include a maximum of three A4 pages for participants up to 10 years old and a maximum of six for those over 10 years old. The conditions for technical editing include the use of the font…
