Romanians in history: Queen Ana, the force of discretiontranslated

It's been 10 years since Queen Ana of Romania - decorated in war, wife of a king in exile and mother of five princesses - passed away.

Romanian by adoption and destiny, just like the other queens of Romania, Queen Ana proved that women are capable of manhood on the front, but they are also consolation and moral support in the family, where they have a huge role: they give life and education to children.

Ana Antoinette Françoise Charlotte Zita Marguerite de Bourbon-Parma was born in Paris on September 18, 1923, and was given five Christian names, after all her aunts. The parents, Prince René of Bourbon-Parma and Princess Margaret of Denmark, had three more children, all boys, which may explain the princess's "boyish" childhood passions: cycling and fishing.

Nicknamed Nan (in English Nan), she grew up in France, Spain and Portugal, and in 1939 she moved to the USA. He later lived in Denmark, Switzerland and England. The financial problems they faced after 1930 taught the four brothers to be modest, thrifty and not to value material things. It was an important lesson for a future queen in exile.…
