It is 55 years since the passage to the Lord of the nun Olga Gologan, who became a real mother for hundreds of orphans whom she cared for and educated at the Bistrița Monastery in Vâlcea county.

Nun Olga Gologan was born on May 23, 1889, in Ialomița county. At the age of seven, he entered as a novice in the community of the Gypsy Monastery near Bucharest, where he was under the protection of his aunt, the nun Epiharia Moisescu, who ran the Cradle of Orphaned Children "Sfânta Ecaterina" in Bucharest, a settlement patronized by Queen Elizabeth and located near the Cașin Church.

Scholarship at the Sorbonne Nun Olga, born Elena Gologan, and her sister, Eugenia, attended primary school in Săcele, secondary courses in Brașov and the Girls' Normal School in Cluj. The two then received, through the care of Queen Elizabeth, scholarships to study at the Sorbonne University in Paris.

After completing their studies, they returned to the country and chose the monastic life to support their aunt in her educational and philanthropic work. Elena received the name Olga, and her sister, Eugenia, the name Teodosia.
