ROEA hierarchs participate in the 15th Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel of Detroit and the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America, together with His Grace Bishop Andrei of Cleveland, Auxiliary Bishop of the Episcopate, participated in the 15th meeting of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, held October 3–6, 2026, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Hosted by His Eminence Metropolitan Savas at the new Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh Center, the gathering brought together hierarchs to address shared pastoral concerns and continue their work in support of Orthodox unity and cooperation. The meeting began with Great Vespers at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Bridgeville on Saturday, October 3, followed by a concelebration of the Holy and Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh on Sunday, October 4.
A central focus of the working sessions was the development of a common Orthodox catechism in English. After reviewing the work of its Committee for Theological Education, the Assembly reaffirmed the committee’s mandate to prepare a classical catechetical text.
