Editor of the magazine “Foma” Olga Bogdanova took part in a round table at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciencestranslated

On October 6, 2026, Olga Bogdanova, editor of the “Questions to a Priest” section of the “Thomas” magazine, took part in the round table “The Phenomenon of Man in Its Dynamics” on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the birth of S. S. Khoruzhy.
The topic of the report is “The concept of “ontic” in the philosophical anthropology of S. S. Khoruzhy and questions about the use of AI in spiritual life.”
One option for attracting AI is attempts to use bots as mentors and advisers in spiritual life and the development of bots that are positioned as priests. The main question is what is the difference between communication with AI and communication with a living person, whether it can act as an alternative in some cases, and why a person so needs personal communication with another.
The report was partly based on questions that were submitted to the “Questions for a Priest” column of the Thomas magazine.
