Regional patriotic event dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarustranslated

On July 2, the clergyman of the parish of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Novopolotsk, Priest Andrei Babushkin, took part in festive events dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 82nd anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
The regional patriotic action “For the Belarusian heart of the earth there are no miles” and the solemn rally “Great feat in our hearts” were held on the territory of the historical and cultural complex “Field of Military Glory” in the agricultural town of Gomel, Polotsk region.
Chairman of the Polotsk District Council of Deputies Joseph Frantsevich Gribovich delivered a welcoming speech.
Father Andrey congratulated those gathered on Independence Day, wished everyone God's help, as well as peace and prosperity to our native land.
Participants of the rally honored the memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence. Flowers and wreaths were laid at the memorial, symbolizing eternal gratitude, grief and respect for the unparalleled courage of the fallen defenders of the Motherland.
