"The Savior asks each of us to give at least a little if we can't give all of what we have," emphasized Vicar Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, on Sunday, in Tataru Parish in Prahova County.
Starting from the Gospel account of the miracle of the multiplication of loaves, His Eminence explained that the thousands of people gathered around the Savior stayed the whole day listening to His word, without being concerned about food.
"They were neither hungry nor thirsty, for more important than food is teaching, especially when it comes from the Savior himself, as they had the privilege of being with the Lord."
The hierarch explained that the exhortation addressed by the Savior to the apostles goes beyond the historical context of the miracle and is addressed to every Christian: "Give them something to eat. That is, give them a word of instruction and give them food if you have it. And since this history of the miracle is related to us by all four evangelists, something that happens very rarely."
