PS Timotei Prahoveanul evoked the trials through which the Holy Cross and Christians have always gonetranslated

"On September 14, we remember the trials that the Holy Cross went through and that the Holy Apostle Paul tells us about at the end of chapter 3 of the Epistle to the Philippians," said His Holiness Father Timotei Prahoveanul, Vicar Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.

"And of all the trials that the Christians in Jerusalem went through then and that the Christians of the whole world are going through today, mentioned by the Holy Apostle Paul, who speaks of some who behave as enemies of the Cross of Christ", added the hierarch in the teaching word delivered on Monday at the Patriarchal Cathedral.

His Eminence recalled the apostle's warning that "their end is destruction". Instead, those who believe in the power of the Cross expect their salvation from heaven, not from the world, said the hierarch, quoting St. Ap. Paul: "As for us, our city is in heaven, from where we await the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."
