PS Sofian Brașoveanul and celebrates the name daytranslated

Vicar Bishop Sofian of Brașov of the Archdiocese of Germany, Austria and Luxembourg celebrates his name day on Wednesday, when Saint Sofian of Antim is honored.

The hierarch was born on July 22, 1970 in the village of Băcel, Covasna county, receiving the baptismal name Gheorghe.

After completing his primary and secondary studies, he attended Industrial High School no. 2 from Sfântu Gheorghe, Philology - History section (1984-1988), and the Faculty of Orthodox Theology Andrei Șaguna from Sibiu (1992-1996).

Monk at Upper Saturday In 1990, he entered as a brother in Brâncoveanu Monastery from Sâmbăta de Sus, being ordained a monk with the name Seraphim on April 20, 1993. Between December 1995 and June 1998, he was a scholar of the Faculty of Catholic Theology in Chur, Switzerland, where he translated his bachelor's thesis into German, publishing it in 1998 at Ed.
