The Most Reverend Father Siluan, the Bishop of Italy, on Sunday urged the faithful of the Parish of the "Nativity of the Mother of God" in San Damiano d'Asti, located in the north of Italy, to cultivate forgiveness in the family: "Get your children used to asking for forgiveness. And give them forgiveness."

The hierarch explained that the miracle of healing the emaciated man in Capernaum shows that Christ first heals the soul and then the body. Starting from this evangelical episode, the Bishop of Italy spoke about the importance of forgiveness in the life of every Christian.

"I don't think there is a greater relief in this world than for the Lord God to say: Your sins are forgiven," said His Eminence, recalling the joy he experienced since childhood when he received his parents' forgiveness and, later, at the Sacrament of Confession.

God works and ordains Reverend Father Siluan also highlighted the power of prayer for those in mental or physical suffering: "The best thing is to pray to God and with our faith to stand before God on behalf of those who may not have faith."
