Patriarchal Vicar Bishop Paisie Sinaitul re-consecrated the "Holy Fathers Joachim and Ana" Church of Vârteju Parish in Ilfov County on Thursday. His Eminence evoked the memory of the ancestors.

It was built between 1912 and 1922, according to the project of an Italian architect, with the financial support of the Bragadiru boyar Dimitrie Marinescu, on the land he owned. His Holiness Father Paisie Sinait emphasized the indestructible connection between the wall church and the living Church.
"The walls we see would not have full meaning without the faithful who pray among them, just as the community cannot remain spiritually alive without the Altar that gathers it and nourishes it with the Body and Blood of the Lord."
