Vicar Bishop Nectarie de Bogdania of the Archdiocese of Chisinau emphasized on Monday, at the consecration of the Patrăuți Monastery in Suceava county, the meaning of the Holy Cross in the Christian's life. "It is the love of God carried to the end," said His Eminence.

Starting from the Savior's words, "take up your cross and follow Me", the hierarch explained that taking up the cross does not mean remaining in suffering, but following Christ to the Resurrection: "The Cross of Christ is not only pain. The Cross is love".

"When we look at the Cross, let us not only see how much Christ suffered. Let us see how much Christ loved us," the vicar bishop also said.

At the same time, His Holiness Father Nectarie de Bogdania reminded of the "everyday cross", which takes shape in patience, obedience, prayer, forgiveness and in the willingness to support those who are in trials.

"It is not the cross that breaks us when we bear it with Christ; it rather breaks us trying to bear it alone."
