Bishop Iustin of Maramureș and Sătmar served on Saturday, on the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, at the Rohia Monastery in Maramureș county. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the monastic settlement, the hierarch said that "it is a holy place, located on a holy mountain, and it is much loved by the people."
His Eminence emphasized that the spiritual development of the monastery was due both to the monks who lived here and to the pilgrims who climbed the Rohia Hill over time, the place being "undoubtedly, chosen by God".
"The sanctity of the place increased through the multitude of pilgrims, worshippers, through their piety and faith, through the effort they made," added the hierarch.
