Protosinghel Serafim Mihali, abbot of the Church Monastery in Neamț county, passed to God on Thursday, at the age of 67.
Father Serafim was appointed abbot in 1993, by His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel, then Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina. At the time, the monastery was in a difficult state, affected by the isolation caused by the operation of the former tuberculosis sanatorium nearby.
In the more than three decades of service, the proto-single Serafim Mihali coordinated extensive restoration and development works of the monastic ensemble.
Under his guidance, new buildings were erected and the new church of the monastery was built, consecrated in June 2024, the result of a long work carried out over the last two decades.
