The Archdiocese of Vălenii de Munte in Prahova County organized the "Holiday Joy" camp, which was attended by 15 children from the Diocese of Southern Bessarabia.

The program, held from July 19-25, combines prayer, pilgrimages and educational activities, offering participants "a framework conducive to spiritual and personal development", through spiritual, cultural and recreational experiences.

According to a post published by the Diocese of South Bessarabia on its Facebook page, the children's participation in this camp "represents a valuable opportunity for spiritual enrichment, knowledge of the Romanian spiritual and cultural heritage and strengthening of communion between the young people of the two dioceses".

During the camp, the participants had the opportunity to visit several cultural and spiritual objectives, such as the Crasna, Suzana and Cheia monasteries, in Prahova county.

At the same time, the children were able to discover the beauty of liturgical art in a workshop for making church vestments. The program was completed by educational games, hikes and socializing moments.

The representatives of the Diocese of South Bessarabia sent their thanks to the Archdiocese...

I’m glad for these guys from Bessarabia that they were able to come to Valenii de Munte. I especially liked that they sewed church vestments with their own hands - this was not just entertainment, but a real deal. It's a good idea to unite children through such camps.

I'm happy for these guys too, Svetlana. It’s especially good that they not only sewed vestments, but also visited monasteries - Suzana, for example, is a very calm place, I’ve been there myself. What kind of camps have you participated in before or are you just observing?

Good thing they also went to Crasna, Suzana and Cheia monasteries, I know them from a long time ago, especially Suzana is a quiet place for prayer. The functional vest workshop seemed to me very practical for children, not just a game. You, Feodor, what else did you do in your camps years ago?

Well said, Suzana is indeed a quiet place, I remember going there with my friends years ago and you felt like time stopped. In our camps then, we also did hagiography lessons with wood and paints, not only sewing. Have you ever gone to similar ones with kids from other provinces?

I'm glad you liked it, Fedor. Last year, with Sunday school, we also went to a similar camp near Munich, where the children went to the mountains more and learned to bake prosphora rather than sew. When were you in Suzana, summer or autumn?

Yes, Susanna is indeed quiet and puts you in a different rhythm. Last year we had taken children from Moldova to a similar camp in Gerania and there was a great company, I remember that they stayed until late at night talking about the differences in the habits of our churches. You, Peter, did you go with your company then or did you have your family with you?
