Archpriest Alexander Ivanov performed a prayer service at the site of the destroyed chapeltranslated

On August 19, 2026, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, the rector of the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Chist, Molodechno district, Archpriest Alexander Ivanov, performed the traditional annual prayer service on the site of the chapel destroyed by atheists in the mid-twentieth century.
The chapel was built at the beginning of the 18th century. It is known that it was consecrated in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
“Neglect of the Tabor commandment about listening and hearing the words of Christ is the road to degradation and ruins, as the desecrated shrine silently testifies to,” Archpriest Alexander noted in his sermon. “And this is evidence not only of the fatal mistakes of the past. It is more about the present, it is relevant, it is about our modern life. It is about many “Christians” who are not in a hurry to “listen to Him”, who do not strive for personal transformation.”
