On September 9, the first meeting of the Orthodox youth club “Simbirsk” after the summer holidays was held at the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University.

Priest Nikita Rybakov, cleric of the Ascension Cathedral of the Savior, spoke about the life of St. Basil the Great and his written works, which are considered relevant and important, including for today’s generation of Orthodox Christians. Father Nikita welcomed the new members of the club and answered their questions.

The head of the youth department of the Simbirsk diocese, Sergei Nikolaev, invited students to take part in the Divine Liturgy, which will be celebrated on Cathedral Square, on the site of the destroyed Trinity Cathedral, on the day of remembrance of the Cathedral of the Simbirsk Saints - September 13, at 8:00. Another important event of this day will be a festival of Orthodox culture, including a master class on bell ringing. It will take place on the territory of the Spassky Convent from 11:00.
