Greeting address from the Governor of the Rostov Region on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the formation of the Don Metropolistranslated

Your Eminence, Venerable Lord Mercury!
I congratulate you, archpastors, clergy and parishioners on the 15th anniversary of the formation of the Don Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church!
Over the years, the metropolis has become one of the spiritual pillars of the south of Russia. Significant work to strengthen church infrastructure, construction of new and restoration of existing churches is a serious contribution to the preservation of architectural and cultural heritage, strengthening Orthodox traditions and connections between times.
Social service deserves special attention. The network of humanitarian aid centers is expanding, and more and more parishioners are becoming involved in volunteer and community projects. This work involves providing concrete assistance to those who find themselves in difficult life situations. Pastoral support for military personnel and their families is especially in demand and rightfully deserves recognition. Faith and compassion unite thousands of residents of the region.
I would especially like to note the work of the clergy in preserving interethnic and interfaith peace, and the moral and patriotic education of youth.
I am confident that the clergy will continue to carefully preserve the traditions of Orthodoxy and respond to the challenges of the time, and faith...
