Parishioners of the Plesetsk diocese visited the crumbling church on the day of its patronal feast daytranslated

Parishioners and the rector of the Church of the Intercession, priest Anatoly Fesechko from the village of Konevo (Arkhangelsk region) visited the ancient Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Berezhnaya Dubrovo on the day of his patronal feast day. The priest performed a prayer service, after which the worshipers walked in a procession around the church.

One of the earliest written references to the Berezheno-Dubrovsky churchyard is found in the “Scribe book of 1622 of the Ustmosh camp of the Kargopol district, compiled by Ivan Voeikov and clerk Tretyak Kopnin.” The village of Berezhnaya Dubrova is located on the left bank of the Onega, 80 versts from Kargopol. Once upon a time, the Nativity of the Virgin Mary parish united five surrounding villages.

After the churchyard was closed in 1932, worship services were never restored here. First, the bell tower was destroyed, and then the stone St. Nicholas Church. Now the wooden church remains locked almost all the time. Rare in its painting, the “heaven” in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is in danger of being lost - the central composition “Lord of Hosts” has already been lost.
