Parishioners of the churches of the Ekaterinodar diocese made a pilgrimage to the Absheron Monasterytranslated

October 13, 2026 · 1 min read

With the blessing of Metropolitan Vasily of Ekaterinodar and Kuban, parishioners of the diocese’s churches made a pilgrimage to the monastery in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “The Unbreakable Wall” in Apsheronsk.

The trip was attended by pupils of the children's Sunday school at the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Gardens, parishioners of the Church of St. Alexis, the Man of God, and the Church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “Healer”.

The main event of the pilgrimage was the Divine Liturgy, which was led by the secretary of the diocesan administration, Archpriest Dimitry Rudnev. After the service, the participants bowed to the shrines of the monastery and shared a joint meal.

The pilgrims then visited the Guam Gorge, where they traveled on a tourist train along a narrow-gauge railway. They also visited the spring in honor of the holy prophet and Forerunner of the Lord John, collected holy water and bathed in the font.

The trip united parishioners in prayer and fraternal communication, helped strengthen inter-parish ties and get acquainted with the spiritual heritage of Kuban.
