Parishioners of the temple in Syrostan met with a church historiantranslated

After the Sunday service, parishioners of the Holy Cross Church in the village of Syrostan met with church historian Lyudmila Kulikova. Over a cup of tea, the meeting participants discussed how akathists for newly glorified saints are compiled and what path the text takes before being approved by the Holy Synod. Renovationism became a separate topic. Lyudmila Vladimirovna said that the reason for the schism was not the church reforms themselves, but the violation of the canons, the collaboration of the leaders of the movement with the Soviet government and the seizure of church administration after the arrest of St. Tikhon. Participants also learned about working with archival documents, the difficulties of historical research and new materials related to the martyrdom of the Venerable Martyr Elizabeth Feodorovna.
