Parish volunteers in St. Petersburg help the blind come to church for liturgytranslated

The Divine Liturgy for the blind - wards of the Primorsky branch of the All-Russian Society of the Blind - was celebrated in the Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessaloniki in Kolomyagi after the summer break, on the holiday of remembrance of the miracle of St. Archangel Michael in Khoneh, September 19. Volunteers and car volunteers from the parish service helped us get to the church, take part in church sacraments, approach icons, light candles, and write notes.

According to the parish website, many visually impaired people gathered for the service; they all received the Holy Mysteries of Christ, which is difficult for them to do in ordinary life. After the liturgy, a tea party was organized with refreshments from the volunteer service. During the conversation, the program for the year was discussed, services and meetings were agreed upon.
