Parish volunteers of Kazan invite everyone to become a restorer of ancient frescoestranslated

Prikhody.ru 10.29.2026. Volunteers clear and strengthen dismantled fragments of wall paintings from the reviving Church of the Kazan Saints in the village of Lyutkino (Tatarstan). Restoration work on ancient frescoes then continues in the parish of the holy martyrs Faith, Nadezhda, Lyubov and their mother Sophia in the city of Kazan.

“Working with frescoes requires a lot of patience. We carefully clean the preserved fragments of old glue residues and accumulated dirt, layer by layer, millimeter by millimeter. There is no need to rush; special care comes first. The most valuable thing in this work is to see how previously hidden outlines begin to emerge through the layers of time. For more than a century, these images were silent witnesses of prayer, joy and hope, and then spent several decades in desolation.
