Parish life in the village of Ustyevoye, Sobolevsky districttranslated

On October 17, the head of the missionary department of the diocese, Priest Sergius Cheremisin, visited the village of Ustyevoye and the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker located there. The priest donated church utensils and liturgical vessels to the church, purchased with funds from the church’s benefactors. A little later, Father Sergius performed a thanksgiving prayer and funeral litany for the village residents, at which he read all the notes brought by the parishioners.

The meeting with the young resident of Ustyevo, Anastasia, the daughter of an employee of the local cultural center, was especially moving. The girl was glad to meet the priest: she had been waiting for him since Father Sergius’s last visit to the village in February of this year. At the end of the meeting, everyone prayed in front of the church image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, singing the troparion and reading a prayer to him.
