Patronal feast day of the Akhtyrka Icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

July 15 in the Elias Church. Ilyinskoye celebrated the patronal feast day - the honoring of the Akhtyrskaya Icon of the Mother of God.

The service began with a prayer service with the consecration of the newly painted Akhtyrka Icon of the Mother of God for the chapel of the temple of the same name.

The dedication of one of the chapels of the Ilyinsky Church to the Akhtyrka image is connected with a story from the personal life of the wife of Count Zakhar Grigorievich Chernyshev, Anna Rodionovna. At a young age, her family lost their breadwinner, and her mother, Baroness Wedel, prayed for her daughters in front of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God in Akhtyrka. After the death of their mother, the sisters were raised at the imperial court, and Anna Rodionovna was subsequently married to Count Chernyshev. According to legend, the Mother of God herself appeared to the empress in a dream, commanding her to take care of the orphan girls. This story is described in the akathist, which is sung in front of the Akhtyrskaya Icon of the Mother of God.

Funds for the new icon were donated by four rectors of the temple, who have served in it since 2000:
