Representatives of the Don Theological Seminary spoke at the All-Russian Conference on Law at the Southern Federal Universitytranslated

On October 30, 2026, the All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Development of legal science in new conditions: unity of theory and practice” was held. The event took place at the Faculty of Law of the Southern Federal University.

Representatives of the Don Theological Seminary took part in the forum: Vice-Rector for Research, Doctor of Law, Professor Priest Alexy Ovchinnikov and senior lecturer, Candidate of Theology Priest Nikolai Pikhovkin, who spoke at a plenary session dedicated to the topic “People of the “risk society”: intersectoral challenges to legal regulation.”

The speech of Priest Alexy Ovchinnikov was devoted to the spiritual, moral and legal aspects of artificial intelligence in the context of national security. Priest Nikolai Pikhovkin presented a report on the peculiarities of the influence of destructive cults on national life.

The conference was held in a mixed format - in person and remotely. It was attended by representatives of religious educational institutions, leading scientists, practitioners and experts from various regions of Russia and foreign countries. The event was organized by the Southern Federal University.
