HOLIDAY HOLY LITURGY AND SACRIFICE TO GET HEALTHY IN ŽELJU VOYVODE FOR ARCHANGELOV'S DAYtranslated

With a solemn holy liturgy and a traditional health offering, the village of Zhelyu voivoda celebrates today its church holiday - Archangel's Day.

In the Church of St. Archangel Michael, His Eminence Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven presided over the festive holy liturgy together with priests from the Sliven Diocese. The service was attended by many residents and guests of the village.

At the end of the service, Metropolitan Arseny presented a Bible to each of those present in the church. Among the first to whom he presented the holy book were the Mayor of Sliven Municipality Stefan Radev, the Mayor of Zhelyu Voivode Stoyan Genov and the People's Representative Desislava Taneva.

In his speech to the laity, the bishop emphasized the importance of faith, spirituality and personal example, stressing the responsibility of adults to be an example to children.

The celebration continues with a traditional Kurban for health prepared by local residents. This year, people gather under the newly built shed, realized with the support of the Municipality of Sliven.
