Celebration of the Nativity of St. Nicholas in Gorokhovotranslated

On August 11, 2026, on the day of the celebration of the Nativity of St. Nicholas, parishioners of the churches of the Vyatka diocese, among whom were pilgrims from the Trifonov Monastery, began to come to the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “Kazan” in the village of Gorokhovo from early morning. The service in the church was performed by the rector of the Kazan Church in the village of Gorokhovo, Priest Sergius Zhernakov, co-served by Deacon Konstantin Luchinin, clergyman of the Panteleimon Church in the city of Kirov. The sacrament of confession on the day of the holiday was received by Hieromonk Nikolai (Belev), cleric of the Holy Dormition Cathedral, dean of the Trifonov Monastery. The service was accompanied by the majestic and beautiful sound of chants performed by the choir under the direction of regent Anastasia Kharitonova. At the end of the Liturgy, Father Sergius served a prayer service to St. Nicholas in front of His revered image and sprinkled the believers with holy water.
