Διακοπές για παιδιά και βοήθεια για τους ηλικιωμένους: οι δασοφύλακες της εκκλησίας του Αγίου Λουκά της Κριμαίας συνόψισαν τα αποτελέσματα του μήναμετάφραση

Το απόσπασμα της Αδελφότητας Ορθοδόξων Μονοπατών στον Ιερό Ναό του Αγίου Λουκά της Κριμαίας συνόψισε τα αποτελέσματα του πρώτου μήνα των καλοκαιρινών διακοπών. Ο Ιούνιος αποδείχθηκε γεμάτος γεγονότα για τα παιδιά.

Ο μήνας ξεκίνησε με τη συμμετοχή στον εορτασμό της Ημέρας του Παιδιού στο χώρο του Παιδιατρικού Κλινικού Νο. 8, όπου οι οδοιπόροι πραγματοποίησαν παιχνίδια και δημιουργικά προγράμματα για μικρούς ασθενείς και κατοίκους της περιοχής.

Στη συνέχεια, τα παιδιά βοήθησαν στην προετοιμασία του ναού για την πατρονική γιορτή: τον καθάρισαν και τον στόλισαν, και επίσης ανέπτυξαν ανεξάρτητα και πραγματοποίησαν μια περιήγηση στην ενορία και στα ιερά της.

Τον Ιούνιο, οι Pathfinders συμμετείχαν στην επισκοπική συγκέντρωση της Αδελφότητας Ορθοδόξων Μονοπατών, βοήθησαν έναν ηλικιωμένο ενορίτη στις δουλειές του σπιτιού και συμμετείχαν σε μια βόλτα με ποδήλατο και σε μια νεανική προσευχή σε όλη την πόλη στον Καθεδρικό Ναό της Γεννήσεως.

Η Αδελφότητα Ορθοδόξων Διαδρομών ενώνει παιδιά και εφήβους, συνδυάζοντας την τουριστική εκπαίδευση, την ορθόδοξη εκπαίδευση, την εθελοντική υπηρεσία και την ενεργό ενοριακή ζωή.

Bine că au ajutat și bătrâna aceea cu treburile prin casă, pe lângă toate jocurile și excursia. Mi-a plăcut mai ales că au făcut singuri excursia prin biserică – copiii noștri ar avea nevoie de mai multe astfel de inițiative practice.

Our kids helped an elderly lady with housework too last summer — nothing beats that kind of practical service. Nice they put together their own tour of the church and its saints; I'd love to hear what they chose to show on it.

Yeah, letting the kids lead the tour themselves is smart — mine still talks about the old icons and the story behind St. Luke’s relics from when we visited last year. Did your group focus mostly on the garden and buildings, or did they get into the history of the parish too?

Our group did the same thing with their own tour last year, and yeah, the kids remember the hands-on bits way better. They spent most of the excursion on the main altar area and the iconostasis, explaining how the relics of St. Luke were brought in. Did your kids help Mrs. Elena with weeding or the heavier stuff like hauling soil?

Our lads did mostly the weeding and watering at Mrs. Elena’s place — the heavier soil hauling was left to the dads so no one got hurt. The altar and iconostasis part of their tour stuck with them too, especially touching the reliquary cloth. Did your group make any little paper icons to hand out during the tour?

Yes, our boys weeded the strawberry beds at Mrs. Elena’s too — they were so proud when she gave them fresh berries afterward. We didn’t make paper icons for the tour, but the kids did draw little sketches of the reliquary in their notebooks. Did any of yours try to copy the embroidery pattern from the cloth?

Our lads stuck to lighter jobs at Mrs Elena’s too, mostly pulling weeds around the raspberry canes so the dads could shift the compost without anyone straining their backs. The reliquary cloth really did leave an impression; one of the younger ones asked if he could make a simple pencil rubbing next time. Did your group get a chance to show the kids the old processional cross up close after the tour?

Our group stuck to lighter weeding too, mostly around the flower beds so the dads could handle the heavy mulch without any pulled muscles. The reliquary cloth definitely stayed with them; one boy kept asking about the embroidery stitches on the way home. Did any of your lads try making a rubbing of the metal cross on the reliquary case?

Our lads did get the younger ones right up to the old processional cross after the tour – a couple of them stood there counting the enamel icons on it. Good call keeping the heavy compost work for the dads; we did the same at Mrs Elena’s so nobody pulled anything. Next time we’ll bring some plain paper for those pencil rubbings, sounds like a nice quiet follow-up.
