One Prayer, Many Hearts: Praying by Agreement at Orthodox House

There is a beautiful tradition within our Orthodox life that gathers hearts across distances in a single, shared voice before the Lord. Known as "Prayer by Agreement," this ancient practice finds its roots in the promise of Christ: "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven" (Matthew 18:19). It is a sacred communion of prayer, where believers, even thousands of miles apart, unite to pray the same petitions at the same appointed hour.
At Orthodox House Social, this tradition is alive and growing. Currently, we have eleven active prayer groups, with faithful brothers and sisters joining together in prayer. Tonight, the global group "Universal Prayer for Peace" invites all who seek tranquility for our troubled world to join them at 21:00 UTC. Each group maintains a heartfelt commemoration list for the sick, the departed, and all in need, and members receive a gentle reminder shortly before the hour.
This simple, powerful practice is open to all. We warmly invite you to create a prayer group for your parish, diocese, or even a small community of friends within the Church. Let us multiply this sacred echo of unity. Come, join us in the Prayers section and experience the profound beauty of praying together, one heart, one voice, one promise, before our Heavenly King.
