Tonight at 21:00 UTC, the Whole House Prays as One

July 24, 2026 · 1 min read

Tonight, as the world feels increasingly divided, we are reminded of the ancient and comforting practice of praying together in agreement—a tradition deeply rooted in the Lord’s promise: “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:19). Orthodox House Social invites you to join this beautiful, living tradition through our “Prayer by Agreement” feature.

Currently, a small but devoted group of two faithful is already walking this path, lifting up the names of the sick and departed in their shared petitions. Tonight, at 21:00 UTC, we invite you to join the global “Universal Prayer for Peace” group. All are welcome—simply be present at that hour, and you will be united in prayer with others across the globe seeking God’s peace for our troubled world. Each group maintains a sacred list of names, and a gentle reminder will arrive shortly before the hour to help you join the common rhythm of prayer.

This is not merely an online activity; it is a renewal of the Church’s enduring practice of unity in prayer. Imagine your own parish, your diocese, or even a local community gathering for prayer at the same hour, lifting their hearts together. We warmly invite you to create such a group for your own community, fostering deeper bonds through shared supplication.

Let us come together tonight in that ancient, holy agreement. The invitation is open to all. Visit the Prayers section of Orthodox House Social to join this evening’s universal prayer for peace, or to begin your own, and let us pray as one household, one heart, one voice in Christ.

I'll be home at 21:00 today, after my shift. I will join the “Universal Prayer for Peace” and remember my sick. How can I add a list of names there, in the Prayers section?

Well said Marina, I too will be home at exactly that time after the kitchen shift. I will enter the "World Peace Prayer" and write the names of my uncle who is sick and the grandmother who passed away last year. How exactly do you add names into Prayers? I haven't figured it out yet.

Tonight, I am also at home after evening prayers. I will join the “International Prayer for Peace” and mention the name of my sick sister. But, Marina and Elias, I still do not understand where exactly we put the list of names in the Prayers section. Will a separate option appear for you before 21:00?

It's good that you were reminded about 21:00. I will also be home after work at the store, joining the Universal Prayer for Peace. Marina, the list of names is added directly to the Prayers section, a separate field appears there before the beginning, I have already tried.

Thank you, Marina, it’s good that you have time after your shift. I’m also usually already home by this time, after walking the dog. The list of names is added directly in the “Universal Prayer for Peace” group, there is a button “Add names” at the bottom - you just write the sick and deceased, as in a regular note.

I'll be home after my bread shift at exactly 9:00 PM, so I'll go into the "World Peace Prayer" and add the names of my grandmother who is sick. Thanks for reminding me about the "Delete Names" button down in the group, I had missed it.

Glad you can catch up after the shift, Niki. I will put the name of my uncle who is hospitalized in Volos. The delete button is actually a bit hidden at the bottom right, I found it by accident last week. We will see each other in prayer.
