The ruling bishop held an all-night vigil in the St. Simeon Cathedral of Chelyabinsktranslated

On the eve of the day of remembrance of the prophet Joel (800 BC) and the martyr Uar (c. 307), Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass celebrated an all-night vigil in the St. Simeon Cathedral. The ruling bishop was co-served by the clergy of the cathedral, led by the clergyman, Archpriest Vladimir Manichev. The hymns were performed by the Bishop's Choir under the direction of regent Marina Goman. During the reading of the canon, Metropolitan Alexy anointed the believers with consecrated oil. Tomorrow the Church remembers the holy prophet Joel, who predicted the great disasters of Jerusalem and the cessation of Old Testament sacrifices. Central to his prophecies was the promise of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh through faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. The memory of the martyr Huar is also celebrated. They pray to the saint to alleviate the posthumous fate of people who died without baptism. The archpastor cordially congratulated the parishioners on Sunday, thanked them for their joint prayer, and wished God’s help in all matters. Tomorrow, Metropolitan Alexy will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ.
