The ruling bishop celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christtranslated

On the day of the celebration of the transfer of the relics of St. Peter, Metropolitan of Moscow, Wonderworker of All Rus', Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the lower church of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ. The archpastor was served by the clergy of the cathedral. The chants were performed by the Bishop's male choir "Axios" under the direction of regent Alexander Khakimov. During the service, an excerpt from the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 22:1-14) was read, in which the Lord Jesus Christ tells the parable of those invited to the wedding feast. The people called by the king to the wedding feast of his son neglected the invitation: some went to work in the field, and some preferred to trade; others insulted and even killed those sent. The king was angry and punished the offenders. Afterwards he sent his servants to invite everyone they found to a feast. The wedding feast was filled with people. But among those who came, the king saw a man not in wedding clothes. This man could not explain his disdain for the celebration. Then the king ordered to throw him “into outer darkness.”

The passage ends with the words: “for many are called, but few are chosen.” After the Liturgy, in the center of the church, the cathedral clergy performed a prayer service for the preservation of God’s creation. This is a special service...
