The Ruling Bishop celebrated the Divine Liturgy and requiem on Dimitrievskaya Parental Saturdaytranslated

On November 7, Dimitrievskaya Parental Saturday, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Tiraspol. Concelebrating with the Most Reverend Bishop was Hieromonk Simeon (Lupashko) and deacon Alexander Naidich, who is undergoing liturgical practice. After the special litany, a funeral litany was proclaimed at the service, followed by petitions for the repose of the souls of all Orthodox Christians who have passed away from time to time, the forgiveness of their voluntary and involuntary sins, and the granting of God’s mercy. In a prayer read according to the litany, the Archpastor turned to the Lord, “the God of spirits and all flesh,” with a request to rest the departed servants of God “in a brighter place, in a greener place, in a place of peace, from where sickness, sorrow and sighing have escaped.” Before the funeral service, Archbishop Savva addressed the clergy and worshipers with an archpastoral word, recalling the spiritual meaning of parental Saturdays and the Christian duty of prayerful remembrance of the departed.
The Bishop noted that the love that unites the living and deceased children of the Church does not end with death, therefore prayer for the departed remains an important manifestation of Christian love...
