The Ruling Bishop took part in commemorative events on Republic Daytranslated

September 2, 2026 · 1 min read

On September 2, on the day of the 36th anniversary of the formation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, events dedicated to this date were held in Tiraspol. Commemorative celebrations began at the Memorial of Glory, where the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, representatives of government bodies, the clergy, the public and residents of the republic honored the memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland. His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary laid flowers at the Eternal Flame, the graves of the defenders, memorial plaques with their names and monuments of the memorial complex. The Ruling Bishop was accompanied by the first assistant to the Bishop, Archimandrite John (Danilescu), the dean of the Central District, Archpriest Sergius Verbitsky, and the clergy of the deanery. The memorable event ended with the solemn march of the Honor Guard company and the orchestra of the Main Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the PMR, as well as the ceremony of raising the State Flag of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

Good thing you mentioned the nameplates, I noticed that too. It is not only the flame, but also the specific faces that remind what they went through. Thanks for the news.
