Today, September 26, 2026, the Orthodox Church commemorates the dedication (consecration) of the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem (Theophany; 335); the pre-feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross; Blessed Cornelius the Centurion (I); Martyrs Cronides, Leonitus, and Serapion (c. 237); Martyrs Seleucus and Stratonicus (III); Martyrs Macrovius, Gordianus, Elias, Zoticus, Lucianus, and Valerianus (320); Blessed Julian the Presbyter (IV); and the Venerable Peter in Atroa (IX).

Fast is not observed.

On the commemoration of the dedication of the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem, we celebrate the feast of the consecration of the Church of the Resurrection built by the Equal-to-the-Apostles Emperor Constantine and his Equal-to-the-Apostles mother Empress Helen. This feast is also known among the people as Theophany and signifies that it is called or celebrated as a Theophany, in distinction from the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Christ, and specifically refers to the consecration of the church dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ.
