Congratulations to children born on Peace Daytranslated

October 16, 2026 · 1 min read

On October 14, 2026, the cleric of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in the city of Brest, Priest Mikhail Derkach, took part in the annual event held by the Brest regional branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation. On this holiday, which opens the Week of Parental Love, families in which children were born on September 21, 2026 were invited to the House of Civil Rites, since this day was declared the International Day of Peace.

In a solemn atmosphere, parents are presented with birth certificates for their children, and certificates indicating that they are recognized as “Children of the World.”

Congratulating the children and their parents, the priest noted that each person must have peace in their souls in order to develop correctly and benefit society. Taking this opportunity, Priest Michael noted that parental love is the solid foundation on which a “peaceful spirit” is cultivated in a person. Therefore, the Week of Parental Love is the most favorable time for everyone to remind themselves of the “stone” on which their kind heart stands. Congratulating the parents on such a wonderful event, Father Michael presented each family with an icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.

At the end of the event a group photo was taken.
