Obediences, study of the Holy Scriptures and pilgrimage: what did the Orthodox youth of Chelyabinsk remember in Junetranslated

Participants in the youth association of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ regularly prayed during divine services, including at bishop’s Liturgies. A special event of the month was the night Divine Liturgy, at which many confessed and received the Holy Mysteries of Christ. In addition to prayer, young people carried out various obediences: they helped greet parishioners, worked with icons and candlesticks, read in the choir, and served at the altar. Classes on Gospel history and the fundamentals of Orthodox doctrine continued, where participants studied the Holy Scriptures, Holy Tradition and the dogma of the Holy Trinity. In June, boys and girls from the youth association “Friends” at the Church of the Holy Martyr John the Warrior made a pilgrimage to Verkhoturye. They visited the St. Nicholas Monastery and the Pokrovsky Convent, prayed at the Divine Liturgy, took communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ and venerated the relics of the holy righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye. The trip became an opportunity for the participants to touch the shrines of the spiritual capital of the Urals and strengthen their faith. CDRO Chelyabinsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
