Pope's Alma Mater to unveil first-ever Pope Leo XIV Sustainability Medal recipient

Villanova University will hold a press conference on September 14 to announce the inaugural recipient of the Pope Leo XIV Sustainability Medal. The event, taking place in the Sala San Pio X of the Vatican, will also highlight the upcoming 2026 Villanova University International Sustainability Conference, “Responding to the Cries of the Earth and the Poor.”

Villanova's always been big on that kind of thing. Curious who they're picking for the first medal though, especially with the conference theme sounding pretty specific. September 14 in the Vatican should make for an interesting press conference.
