Yes, that spoke to me—that "little seed of the gospel." Here in Humenno, I see it when baking bread: the yeast does not make noise, but the dough grows. I hope I can be so patient and not use force.

Galina’s, and my zucchini too, grew so big last year that they almost hit the neighbor’s fence. The main thing is not to overdo it with watering, otherwise instead of quiet growth there will be only tops. How many bushes do you usually plant?

Our toddler’s playdough is the same way — you knead one tiny ball and suddenly it’s all over the couch and in his hair, no drama, just steady growth. That line about becoming “small seeds of the Gospel” stuck with me too. Makes me wonder if I’m patient enough to let things rise without trying to force them.

That playdough comparison is spot on, Katherine. I tried making bread with my roommate last weekend and the dough took forever to rise while I kept poking it, exactly like I do with people at the food bank when I'm impatient for results. Are you finding it easier to just let the toddler's mess spread or do you still jump in?
