Why is the idea of separation strong in our country? In the east everyone lives in large families.translated

Reader question:
Good evening. Adult children are obsessed with psychologists' ideas about separation, gestalt, and resentment towards parents. We are not an authority for them, parents are presented as usurpers, and we are forced to apologize all the time. At the same time, everything is for children: we buy apartments, take them to the sea, to sanatoriums, tutors. But we were still bad—they forced us to study and put things in order in the room. My child lives 40 km away, visits once a month, and there is no prospect of living in the same city. What should a parent do? It’s sad in my old age (I’m 56) to be left alone with sores. I think maybe I should sell everything and move to where there is a monastery and live out my life: maybe good people will help, call a doctor. This disunity is now a disaster. An Armenian family lives below me: grandparents are with them, the son supports his wife and four children, everyone is friendly, they gave birth to another son - the whole family is happy. Why do they have such love? They are not Orthodox, but among Eastern peoples, parents do not interfere; they live with their families. And here they are trying to leave their parents.
