Michal ŠimkoIn that sermon, I was interested in the mention of how St. John of Damascus lost his hand and the Virgin Mary gave it back to him. I never realized that this is why Trojeručica has the third hand on top. It's nice when things like this are explained simply, without unnecessary gimmicks.

Zuzana NovákováYes, the story about the hand of Saint John of Damascus is really interesting and simple. I always thought the third hand was more of a protection symbol until I heard it explained like this. And what about you, Michal, have you heard about how the icon got to us in Slovakia?
