Phanar: Signing of the Acts of Canonization on August 29

On Saturday, August 29, at the All-Holy Patriarchal Church of St. George in the Phanar, following the celebration of Vespers, at around 5:00 p.m., the service for the signing of the Acts of Canonization of those recently added to the Hagiology of the Orthodox Church will take place.

The Acts will be signed by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the members of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

They concern the Romanian Athonite Fathers Hieromonk Niphon, Monk Nectarios, known as “Protopsaltis,” Hieromonk Dionysios of Kolitsou, and Hieromonk Petronios, as well as Hieromonk Tychon the Spiritual Father and Monk George, known as Hatzigeorgis.

The service for the signing of the Acts of Canonization will be celebrated in the presence of the Holy and Sacred Synod surrounding the Ecumenical Patriarch.
