On November 2, the Peter and Paul Church in the village of Novopetrovskoye was visited by 9th grade students from the Novopetrovsk Secondary School. The guests were met by the rector of the church, priest Alexy Varenikov. Father talked with the guys about the upcoming holiday of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and National Unity Day. Remembering the history of the holiday, Father Alexey drew the schoolchildren’s attention to the meaning of prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos, to how She protects Christians, is quick to obey and protector of our Fatherland. At the end of the meeting, the guys prayed and lit candles at the icon of the Mother of God of Kazan.
