Teachers of Kalmykia discussed issues of teaching the fundamentals of Orthodox culture | Elista and Kalmyk diocesetranslated

On September 15, 2026, at the Kalmyk Republican Institute for Advanced Training of Education Workers, Archpriest Anthony Zimovets met with primary school teachers from educational institutions of the Republic of Kalmykia as part of advanced training courses “Implementation of an educational program in the academic subject “Fundamentals of Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics” in the context of the tasks of spiritual and moral development of the personality of primary school students. Archpriest Anthony Zimovets, cleric of the Kazan Cathedral in Elista, gave a lecture on the topic “Fundamentals of Orthodox culture in the subject of ORKSE.” During the lecture, questions were considered: how the Orthodox view helps to reveal the topics of the course for younger schoolchildren, what moral guidelines can be laid and how to avoid superficial interpretations. The meeting participants also determined the topics for future seminars for primary school teachers.
