The Diocese of Severin and Strehaia hosted a symposium on the spiritual and cultural heritage of Mehedinți at the beginning of the week.

The event began at the "Holy Trinity" Monastery in Strehaia, with the Holy Liturgy performed by His Holiness Father Nicodim, Bishop of Severin and Strehaia, together with His Holiness Father Ieronimo, Bishop of Dacia Felix.

The scientific works were held in the Festive Hall of the Diocesan Center in Drobeta-Turnu Severin. The opening of communications brought together representatives of the county authorities, cultural and educational institutions, clergy and guests concerned with the knowledge of the history of Severin County.

His Holiness Father Nicodim opened the series of communications by evoking the revolutionary movement from the Topolnița Monastery in 1826 and the Proto-Singel Vichentie Popescu, whom he presented as "a man with a holy life".

The Prefect of Mehedinți County, Isuf Constantin-Alin, welcomed the presence of researchers and people of culture, emphasizing the value of the information brought to the attention of the community through such meetings and the availability for the continuation of institutional collaboration.
